Taking on new work now

Custom software and AI automation, built to run in production.

Cape Town, ZAClients worldwideSince 2021

From Cape Town we build web apps, mobile apps, and the automation that connects them, for teams who need the thing working, not demoed.

What working with us looks like

Fixed written quotes. Weekly progress. Code you own.

You talk to the people doing the build. There is no account manager in between, and the repositories, hosting and domains end up in your name.

Our latest project

Champs FC.

A free, prize-backed survivor football platform, rebuilt so any competition can be added as configuration instead of code.

Services

Four things we get hired for.

Most jobs start as one of these and turn into two. Each is scoped and priced on its own, and the quote is fixed in writing before anything begins.

  • OpenAI
  • Lead scoring
  • Document handling
  • Dashboards

Most teams do not need a chatbot. They need the twelve manual handoffs between their forms, their CRM, and their spreadsheet to stop being manual.

  • Next.js
  • Webflow
  • Headless CMS
  • SEO
  • Analytics

A site that loads fast, ranks, and can be edited without a developer is not a luxury tier. It is the baseline.

  • Store submission

Getting to the App Store is the easy half. Staying installed is the part that needs engineering.

Technical Consulting

  • Architecture review

  • Quote reviews
  • Fractional CTO

The costliest software decisions get made before anyone writes code, usually in a meeting with no engineer in the room.

Our process

Four steps. No surprises.

The part most people care about is the third one: you see progress every week instead of waiting to find out at the end.

  1. 01

    Call.

Thirty minutes on what you are trying to solve. If we are not the right fit for it, you will hear that on the call rather than in a polite email a week later.

    Takes

    30 min

  2. 02

    Scope.

A written proposal with fixed scope, a real timeline, and a price. No line items that resolve to "TBC".

    Takes

    1–2 days

  3. 03

    Build.

Weekly sprints, a shared board you can see at any time, and a Loom walkthrough at the end of each week. You always know what changed and why.

    Takes

    2–12 weeks

  4. 04

    Hand over.

Launch, documentation, and access in your name, not ours. Plus a support window for the bugs that only surface once real users arrive.

    Support window

    14–30 days

How we work

The way this is different.

No account manager.
You talk to the people doing the build. Briefs do not get relayed, and nothing gets lost between the call and the commit.
No discovery deck.
Scoping is a conversation and a written proposal. If a project needs research before anyone builds, we say so instead of billing for it by default.
No favourite stack.
Webflow when a team needs to edit freely. Next.js when it needs logic. n8n when the answer is plumbing. Sometimes you already own a tool that does the job.
No hostage-taking.
Repositories, hosting and domains end up in your name with the documentation to run them.

Questions

Straight answers to the usual ones.

Who is behind Cuyco?

Cuyco is a software company based in Cape Town, South Africa, founded by Ross Cuyler. You deal with the people doing the build. There is no account manager between you and the work. The team on each project is sized to the job, with specialists in design and backend brought in when a project calls for it.

What does a project cost?

Every project is quoted individually, because a five-page site and a secure document platform should not share a price list. Tell us what you are trying to build and you will get a written scope, a timeline, and a fixed price within two business days, before any work starts.

How long does a typical project take?

Websites take two to four weeks. AI automation workflows take two to six weeks. Mobile apps take six to twelve weeks. The timeline is set in the proposal and progress is visible weekly, so slippage is something you find out about immediately rather than at the end.

Do you work with clients outside South Africa?

Yes. We work with clients anywhere in the world. Everything runs remotely over video and async updates, and invoices can be issued in ZAR, USD, GBP, or EUR.

What are the payment terms?

50% deposit to begin, 50% on delivery or launch day. Retainers are billed monthly in advance. Hourly work is invoiced on completion.

Who owns the code and the accounts when it is done?

You do. Repositories, hosting, domains, and third-party accounts are set up in your name or transferred to it at handover, along with documentation. Holding a client hostage through account ownership is a business model, not a service.

Can you maintain it after launch?

Yes, either on a monthly retainer for continuous work or ad-hoc at an hourly rate for occasional needs. Every project also includes a 14 to 30 day support window for post-launch fixes at no extra cost.
