Four steps, no surprises. The part most people care about is the third one: you can see progress every week rather than waiting to find out at the end.

    Call

    Thirty minutes on what you are trying to solve. If I am not the right person for it, you will hear that on the call rather than in a polite email a week later.

  2. 02 · 1–2 days

    Scope

    A written proposal with fixed scope, a real timeline, and a price. No line items that resolve to "TBC".

  3. 03 · 2–12 weeks

    Build

    Weekly sprints, a shared board you can see at any time, and a Loom walkthrough at the end of each week. You always know what changed and why.

  4. 04 · 14–30 days

    Hand over

    Launch, documentation, and access in your name — not mine. Plus a support window for the bugs that only surface once real users arrive.

Who is behind Cuyco?

Cuyco is Ross Cuyler, a software developer based in Cape Town, South Africa. You deal with the person who writes the code — there is no account manager between you and the build. Specialist collaborators come in for design or heavy backend work when a project calls for it.

What does a project cost?

Websites start at R15,000, mobile apps at R45,000, and AI automation builds at R25,000. Retainers start at R8,000 a month and hourly consulting is R500 to R750 excluding VAT. Every project gets a fixed written quote before any work starts.

How long does a typical project take?

Websites take two to four weeks. AI automation workflows take two to six weeks. Mobile apps take six to twelve weeks. The timeline is set in the proposal and progress is visible weekly, so slippage is something you find out about immediately rather than at the end.

Do you work with clients outside South Africa?

Yes. Current and past clients are in South Africa, the Netherlands, and the UK. Everything runs remotely over video and async updates, and invoices can be issued in ZAR, USD, GBP, or EUR.

What are the payment terms?

50% deposit to begin, 50% on delivery or launch day. Retainers are billed monthly in advance. Hourly work is invoiced on completion.

Who owns the code and the accounts when it is done?

You do. Repositories, hosting, domains, and third-party accounts are set up in your name or transferred to it at handover, along with documentation. Holding a client hostage through account ownership is a business model, not a service.

Can you maintain it after launch?

Yes, either on a monthly retainer for continuous work or ad-hoc at an hourly rate for occasional needs. Every project also includes a 14 to 30 day support window for post-launch fixes at no extra cost.
